francine satu is a hybrid musical project that explores the boundaries between noise, DIY sound experimentation, and overflowing rhythms. Within a saturated and organic universe, francine satu manipulates raw sounds and textures to create intense, evershifting music. The project incorporates electroacoustic objects repurposed from their original use, infusing the compositions with a raw and unpredictable physicality. Between noise explosions, unleashed rhythmic, and sonic accidents, francine satu is a living laboratory, a party under pressure.
francine satu was born in Switzerland from an almost accidental shared living situation in 2023. The connection between Fabiano Laghi and Eliot Harris sparked a desire to create together. A twoweek artistic research residency, granted by the City of Fribourg, provided the necessary time. At the end of this period and after many hours spent experimenting and composing, francine satu gave its first live performance at the Festival de la Cité in Lausanne, in 2024.
At its core, francine satu is driven by extended live playing, shaped by repetition, drift, and gradual transformation. Each performance unfolds as a temporary installation, adapting to the space and moment in which it takes place.
Rather than separating sound and audience, the project embraces their interaction, creating immersive situations that balance intensity and pleasure, disorientation and flow. This approach fits naturally in festivals and unconventional settings, where the surroundings become an active part of the performance.
